The festival has been going every year since 2000. Its initial intention was to offer the public some independent artists whose main genre is either rock or pop. Sónar – June 15-17 2017

The three-day festival of electronic and experimental music has started in 1994 and still remains a must for anyone who is into electronic music, contemporary urban art and media technologies. The Sonar festival has always been something more than just music festival. It is divided into two parts: Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night. During Sonar by Day part you will see many exhibitions showing multimedia art, sound labs, record fairs, providing you an opportunity to immerse yourself into the entrancing world of electronic music.  Sonar by Night is when the concerts take place and DJs perform.  Last year the festival visited 115,000 people from more than 100 countries. Sónar takes place all over the city, so there are various locations where artists perform. CRUILLA – July 7-9 2017

Cruilla is a summer music festival that takes place at Barcelona’s Parc del Forum (the same place home of Primavera Sound). Cruilla is a weekend full of music at the incredible place under sun and close to the sea. Cruïlla pulls in artists from a diverse selection of genres. This year there will perform Die Antwoord, The Prodigy, Pet Shop Boys, Ryan Adams and others. Apart from musical performances, in the festival you will find artistic installations, spaces for beauty and massage, a market with vintage clothing, handicrafts, food and wines from the neighbouring vineyards of Catalonia, which cannot be missed. DGTL – August 11-12 2017

Originally from Amsterdam the DGTL festival of electronic music now takes place in Barcelona in the Parc del Forum. Last year the festival had around 20,000 visitors and this year the DGTL festival is ready to surpass this number. Also, they festival organizers have announced that there will be 4 stages installed instead of 3 like it was in 2016. The festival has a solid line-up of international artists, interactive and innovative performances and art installations. In addition, the festival aims to promote sustainability, the use of wind and solar energy and the consumption of organic food.  With its party club atmosphere this festival is a must visit for those who have passion for electronic music.

 

Festival de Guitarra Barcelona – 27 April – 6 July 2017

The guitar festival lasts more than a month and comprises a variety of artists.
