Barcelona is a city where commerce is really important. Indeed, you will not have to look for a store for hours because there are many different businesses everywhere in this town. Nevertheless, there are some areas where most of the shops are concentrated.
The most traditional area is “Ciutat Vella” where small family share the space with other modern design stores. Las Ramblas, el Portal de l'Angel, la calle Pelai and Portaferrissa are the main commercial streets of this zone.
Another important area for commerce is the one of Rambla Catalunya and Paseo de Gracia. There, you will find many stores of famous designers, jewelry, perfume, fashion boutiques, designer furniture shops, etc. In this area, there is also a commercial center called the “Bulevard Rosa” and which is devoted exclusively to fashion and accessories. You cannot miss it because it occupies an entire block of houses.
If you go to the “Diagonal” area for shopping, we want to warn you: the prices are higher than anywhere else and everything is expensive over there, due to the surrounding neighbourhoods and quality shops that are located in this area of Barcelona. If you are around, go to see the "Illa", a shopping centre where there are many stores but also restaurants and bars.
