Sitges is a
synonym for culture, sun and beach. Cultural movements of the last century have left us a rich heritage: architecture, painting, etc., which is one of the main objectives of the visitors. Connected by the Road from the Coast, this town of maritime tradition, is situated in a privileged location between mountains and sea. It retains one of its coves, the old huts of fishermen, has an important marina and is located at the foot of La Falconera.

Among the most important areas of the vilage, the Paseo is undoubtedly the gateway to the sea and the axis on which Sitges is articulated. The church and the stairs of the jetty are the most important area, where most celebrations and festivities of the city are held. We should also mention “Cau Ferrat” (1180-1910), “Palau Maricel” (1911-1929), Church of “Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla” (XVI-XVII century) and “Casa del Rellotge” (Clock House), also known as “Casa Carbonell” (1911-1929).

Every year, the Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya takes place in Sitges. It is the first fantasy film festival in the world. With a solid experience, the Sitges Festival offers fantastic cinema from around the world in an ideal place for meeting, exhibition and projection.

Started in 1968 as "1a Semana Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic i de Terror", the Festival has become a must for movie buffs and all spectators who want to see the latest trends and new technologies applied to the cinema and audiovisual production.
