The big taxi park in Barcelona is a little bit more expensive, but a good alternative to the public transport. For short distances (5 to 15 minutes driving), you will pay 5 to 12 euros. The colors of the legal taxis (SP) are black and yellow and they have a green lamp on the roof of the car which indicates when the taxi is available.
However, we recommend you not to take the taxi in the city centre as it is not very comfortable: the majority of streets are for pedestrians only or are packed with parked cars.
There are taxi parking lots situated all over the city but you can also just raise your hand to hold a taxi anywhere on the street.
Taxis in Barcelona are available 24/7 and prices depend on whether it is a working day or a holiday and whether it is day or night. There are also additional fees for transportation of luggage and for trips from and to the airport or main stations. The prices are always established by the counter and cannot negotiated.
