This year marks the 150 anniversary of the Reform and Widening Project of Barcelona, devised by engineer Ildefons Cerdà: “Pla Cerdà”. The exhibition reflects and reviewed this amazing town-planning project, without it we cannot understand the Barcelona’s presents and future.

The Global Sports Forum Barcelona is an exchange platform attracting a wide range of personalities from the world of sport. Thanks to its unique emphasis on the position of sport at the heart of modern society, the Forum is a place where people come together and debate issues, the aim being to highlight sport in all its dimensions: economic, social, political and cultural.

This second edition takes place in the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya (Av. Diagonal, 661-671, Barcelona) during the 8th and 10th March.

The Cranberries are an Irish rock band formed in Limerick in 1989 under the name The Cranberry Saw Us, later changed by vocalist Dolores O'Riordan. The group was one of the most successful rock acts of the '90s. The band has achieved eight top 20 singles on the Modern Rock Tracks chart ("Linger", "Dreams", "Zombie", "Ode to My Family", "Ridiculous Thoughts, "Salvation", "Free To Decide" and "Promises").

The Cranberries are back on the road wtih rave reviews and sold out shows worldwide before heading back into the studio in 2010 for the band's next full length release.

The largest poker tournament in Europe arrived in Barcelona with more than 500,000 euros in prize money. The grand finale of the poker tournament will take place on 18, 19, 20 and 21 March at the Grand Casino Barcelona in the Olympic zone.

The "Festival Mil·leni" arrives at his XI edition with a luxurious and eclectic program. It's a winter festival opened to all kind of public.

One of the characteristics that distinguish this type of festival of any other is the ticket price, far lower than other concerts: range from 18 euros the cheapest, at 98 euros the more expensive.

The landmark 25th Anniversary EAU Congress will be held in the beautiful city of Barcelona, the capital of the region of Catalonia in Spain. As the destination city Barcelona will provide the perfect backdrop for this significant event.

For the first time this special Annual EAU Congress will be held over a weekend from Friday 16 to Tuesday 20 April 2010.

We have already the confirmated dates for the Trofeo Conde Godó next edition. It will take places from 15th to 25 April 2010 in the Real Club de Tenis de Barcelona. This institutioon dates from 1866 and the tournement is considered as the International Championships of Spain. This year the this important ATP Tournement has changed his name.  Now is called the Open Sabadell Atlantico.

The final list of participant will be closed at the end of february, but we can already confirm some names like Rafa Nadal, Marat Safin, Fernando González, Juan Carlos Ferrero, David Ferrer or Nikolay Davydenko.
 

The 28th edition of the Barcelona Comic Fair is almost here. It will be celebrated from 6th to 9th Mai 2010 at the Fira of Barcelona (Montjuïc). The fair, which is the oldest and the most important of the comic world in Spain, brings the best national and international comic book artists, and comes full of new features.

The Spanish Grand Prix is one of the most exiting event in Catalonia which attracts even more spectators than the full football stadium of FC Barcelona's Camp Nou and which is guarantee for an unforgettable weekend. The Formula One teams are no strangers to Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya; not only have they raced there every year since 1991, they also conduct extensive testing at the venue.

Primavera Sound is one of the most important independent Music Festival. It is celebrated in Barcelona since 2001 and takes three days. This year will be held from 27 to 29 May at the Parc del Forum.

The next 17th to 19th June takes place in Bracelona the SONAR 2010. The International Festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia Art. After the successful last year with such innovations as SonarKids, the performance of Grace Jones, the breakthrought of Buraka Som System or Ebony Bones, and of course the concert of acclaimed artists like Jeff Mills or Orbital, we can’t miss this new edition.

Barcelona also has a renowned tradition in hosting both national and international athletics competitions. Amongst these we can highlight the World Cup in Athletics in 1989 and the World Indoor Championships in 1995. Continuing its desire to figure on the International Athletic scene, the city has taken up the challenge of organising the 20th European Athletics Championships and is hoping for successful participation from both competitors and the people of Barcelona.

The event will take place from 26th July to 1st August 2010.
